Request an initial assessment

A few details to understand your situation. We will get back to you within one working day. Sending a request does not constitute an engagement: engagements are agreed in writing, after a written fee quote.

Sending this request does not create a lawyer-client relationship and does not constitute an engagement, which requires a specific written mandate.

How we can help

Renting and buying a home

Lease agreements, deposits not returned, rent arrears and evictions, termination and renewal; and, when buying, a review of the purchase proposal and the preliminary contract before you sign. The final deed is signed before an Italian notary.

Inheritances involving assets in Italy

An apartment, land or bank accounts in Italy left by a relative: acceptance of the inheritance, the steps required in Italy, disputes between heirs, and coordination with your lawyer or notary at home.

Separation and divorce

Consensual and contested separation and divorce, children and maintenance, the family home, under the Italian family proceedings introduced by the 2023 reform.

Employment

Dismissals, which in Italy must be challenged in writing within sixty days of receiving the written notice, disciplinary proceedings, unpaid wages and disputes with an employer.

Contracts and business

Commercial contracts with Italian suppliers, clients and partners, franchising, relations between shareholders, ongoing legal support for companies operating in Italy.

Consumer claims

A defective product, a warranty not honoured, a service paid for and not delivered, a contract signed on terms different from those promised.

Damages and road accidents

Personal injury and property damage, road accidents in Italy, dealing with insurance companies and assessing the damage.

Money owed to you

Unpaid invoices and debts owed by Italian individuals or companies: formal demand, payment order (decreto ingiuntivo) and enforcement, after an initial assessment of costs and prospects.

Working with an Italian lawyer

Italian civil proceedings are conducted in Italian, and in many matters the law requires an attempt at mediation before going to court. Property transfers are completed by deed before a notary, and deadlines can be short: a dismissal, for example, must be challenged within sixty days. We review your documents first, tell you which deadlines apply and which route makes sense, and only then agree an engagement and a written fee quote.

How we work

The first assessment takes place by phone or video call, in English. Documents are exchanged and signed digitally, so you do not need to be in Florence for most of the work; when a hearing or a meeting in person is needed, we attend. Our lawyers are registered with the Florence Bar (Ordine degli Avvocati di Firenze) and work in Florence, Prato, Lucca and across Tuscany.
